Each year, Crux opens its doors to a cohort of bright, enthusiastic students as interns. This year, we welcomed nine talented individuals across various departments, providing them with invaluable hands-on experience while injecting our projects with fresh perspectives and energy.
Insights from Our Interns
James Howitt: “I have worked on various projects, including sustainability of consumer product concepts and mechanical design of test rigs. I have learned a huge amount at Crux, especially in terms of work best practice and efficient teamwork.”
Saja Mahmoud: “At Crux, I’ve conducted testing on medical devices and been involved in their mechanical design. My confidence and technical abilities have increased thanks to the amazing team here.”
Kai Wilson: “I’ve worked on projects in both medical and consumer product industries, including developing Digital Surrogate Devices and fabricating microneedle prototypes.”
Oscar Jaffe: “My internship at Crux has given me broad experience in various engineering disciplines, from force testing to simulating novel medical devices.”
Evan Davies: “I’ve been involved in projects across Medical and FMCG industries. The Crux team has been very supportive throughout my placement. It’s been a great year!”
Lawrence Jones: “My role ranged from force stand testing to designing innovative solutions using mathematical modelling. I’ve expanded my technical skills and learned to work collaboratively across disciplines.”
Oliver Perez: “In the Electronics and Software department, I’ve been involved in the full product lifecycle, from electronic design to software development, ensuring Crux’s value of quality delivery is met.”
Eva Hesketh-Laird: “I’ve been involved in client-facing projects, refining my skills in software and gaining experience in HF study planning, execution and analysis. Being part of HF studies has been particularly rewarding. It’s fulfilling to contribute to creating more inclusive and user-friendly products. My time at Crux has been incredibly rewarding—a fantastic experience with valuable learning opportunities.
